Homework due Friday, November 4:

  • Finish The Libation Bearers.
  • Look up word: trope
  • Handwrite the definition (so it permeates your brain–copy and paste won’t do!)
  • Compare (mentally) with these definitions of genre.
  • Read this exhaustive catalogue of Scooby Doo tropes (just the basic show overview and “Frequent Scooby Tropes” under the long list of every Scooby Doo series and film ever will do–or should I say, Doo?)
  • We will talk more about tropes and your new favorite play and mine tomorrow.
  • Cue bat sound.
  • For those who prefer Law and Order to Scooby Doo, cue the Law and Order sound:
